Everything I’ve learned about sewing is almost entirely self taught. While I’ll never claim to be the most seasoned seamstress, I love using the sewing machine as a tool to try new things and push my own boundaries. 2020 was also a pivotal year for makers and literally anyone with a sewing machine. I too, went straight to work and spent months dedicated to making masks for family, friends, and healthcare workers in my hometown. I learned so much from sewing a few hours everyday, and now I sew mask and scrunchie sets from vintage and upcycled fabrics as a part of my personal practice.
