In this intro level class, students will learn the foundations of natural dye processes with local artist, Caroline Worrell. You'll leave with an understanding of mordanting/pre-treatment, immersion dyeing, and after-care.
Required Materials:
Bring 1-3 items you'd like to dye! It can be anything from a skein of yarn, to an old white shirt you'd like to up-cycle. Must be an un-dyed or bleached natural fiber (including cotton, linen, wool, mohair, alpaca, etc...). No synthetic fibers or synthetic blends can be used.
We will provide a silk ribbon for students to dye that is suitable for wrapping gifts.
Class fee includes an info booklet for students to take notes, natural dye and mordanting materials, and equipment. Let's explore the vibrant world of natural color together!
